Go Texas – Governor Abbott Bans Vaccine Mandates By ANY Entity In Texas

As soon as the Biden administration directed OSHA to create unconstitutional vaccine mandates for those working for companies with over 100 employees, conservative governors expressed their disdain for the federal government’s overreach.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who has been battling the White House via directives and in the courts for months, further announced the state of Florida would resist all these efforts too.

Finally, a second governor just put their state’s stake in the ground defending their citizens from the Biden federal draconian COVID vaccine mandates.

On Monday Governor Greg Abbott (R) also banned vaccine mandates by any entity, this time in Texas.

“The Covid vaccine should always remain voluntary and never forced,” Abbott said.

“Abbott issued an executive order stating that no entity in Texas can compel receipt of a Covid-19 vaccination by any individual, including an employee or consumer, who objects to such vaccination for any reason of personal conscience, based on a religious belief, or for medical reasons, including prior recovery from Covid-19,” the governor’s office announced.

Abbott said he will also add the issue to the Special Session agenda and rescind the executive order upon the passage of legislation.

“In another instance of federal overreach, the Biden Administration is now bullying many private entities into imposing COVID-19 vaccine mandates, causing workforce disruptions that threaten Texas’ continued recovery from the COVID-19 disaster,” Abbott said in an executive order.

I issued an Executive Order prohibiting vaccine mandates by ANY entity in Texas.

I also added the issue to the Special Session agenda.

This move by Governor Abbott just prevented Southwest airlines and other Texas-based companies from moving forward with the expected OSHA requirements.

The question will be, will these companies implement the mandates internally to stay in good graces by improving their ESG Scores, or will the entire notion of mandating COVID vaccines be set aside in deference to liberty and state sovereignty under the 10th amendment.

It will be interesting to watch, I hope the latter plays out for all our sake.
