The Bible does not begin with man at the center. It begins with God. Humanity was created by God and for God. Men and women are made in the image of God, which means human life has dignity, moral responsibility, and purpose. Our purpose is not self-invention, self-expression, or self-glory. We were made to know God, glorify Him, enjoy Him, obey Him, and represent Him in the world. Sin distorts that purpose, but Christ restores redeemed sinners to God. In Christ, believers are not left wandering for meaning. They are called to love God, love neighbor, make disciples, do good works, and finish their race faithfully.
