Passivity is not harmless. From the beginning, men have been tempted to remain silent when they should speak and absent when they should lead. Many men avoid responsibility because leadership is costly. Others escape into work, entertainment, hobbies, pornography, or comfort. Biblical manhood calls men to wake up, repent, and take responsibility under Christ. This does not mean every man must be loud or dominant. It means he must be faithful. A passive man may look peaceful, but neglect is not love.
