The Christian life is not headed toward uncertainty. God’s saving work has a final destination. Glorification is the moment when believers are fully and finally conformed to Christ. Sin will be gone. Suffering will be gone. Death will be defeated. The believer’s body will be raised, and the redeemed will dwell with the Lord forever. This future hope strengthens Christians in present trials. We grieve, but not as those without hope. We suffer, but not without purpose. We fight sin knowing the battle will not last forever. Glorification reminds us that finishing the race is worth it because Christ Himself is the prize.
