As President Joe Biden continues insisting border walls do not work, his administration is currently bypassing laws to build more barriers in South Texas.
Biden said Thursday that he doesn’t believe border walls work, even as his administration said it will waive 26 laws to build additional border barriers in the Rio Grande Valley amid heightened political pressure over migration.

According to a notice posted to the Federal Register Wednesday, construction of the wall will be paid for using already appropriated funds earmarked specifically for physical border barriers.
The administration was under a deadline to use them or lose them. But the move comes at a time when a new surge of migrants is straining federal and local resources and placing heavy political pressure on the Biden administration to address a sprawling crisis, and the notice cited “high illegal entry.”
During the 2020 presidential campaign cycle, Joe Biden’s campaign continually attacked and mocked President Trump’s investment in the US border wall with Mexico.
On August 5th, 2020, Joe Biden insisted; “There Will Not Be Another Foot Of Wall Constructed In My Administration”
In July 2022, Peter Doocy pressed Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the sections of the US border wall that were being prepared, and completed.
“Why is the Biden Administration building a border wall in Arizona?” Doocy asked.
Jean-Pierre responded that they were not building the wall but rather “cleaning up the mess the prior administration left behind in their failed attempt to build a wall.” She then talks about the $8 billion they “saved” and “gave back” to military families, for schools, and for bases.”
Doocy continued, “…Biden said when he was a candidate, there would not be another foot of wall constructed in my administration. So what changed?”
Today, Biden’s DHS secretary declared an “immediate need” to build 20+ miles of border wall in Texas.
With the massive number of illegal aliens who have, and continue to flood across the US border, an estimated 7+ million of them, states like New York are on the verge of bankruptcy as tens of thousands of the “refugees” have found a home in the Big Apple, causing chaos.
NYC Mayor Eric Adams is in Mexico to tell them that the Big Apple is at capacity’ after 122,000 arrived in the last year.
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is now saying that there is an immediate need for more border walls in Texas, to deal with the never-ending flow of illegal border crossers.
Mayorkas warned the situation has grown dire:
“There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas,” Mr. Mayorkas said in an official filing in the Federal Register. “In order to ensure the expeditious construction of the barriers and roads in the project areas, I have determined that it is necessary that I exercise the authority that is vested in me by section 102(c) of IIRIRA.”
Here’s the newest plan, as announced by Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas:
The Biden administration announced they waived 26 federal laws in South Texas to allow border wall construction on Wednesday, marking the administration’s first use of a sweeping executive power employed often during the Trump presidency.
The Department of Homeland Security posted the announcement on the U.S. Federal Registry with few details outlining the construction in Starr County, Texas, which is part of a busy Border Patrol sector seeing “high illegal entry.” According to government data, about 245,000 illegal entries have been recorded in this region during the current fiscal year.
