There are some truths so vast they take a lifetime to unwrap, and I find myself returning to today's verse again and again — not out of habit, but out of wonder. Each time I sit with it, I discover something new about how deeply and deliberately God loves me, and loves you. I'm so glad you're here today.

John 3:16 is twenty-five words that contain the whole gospel — a love so immense it sent God's own Son, and a promise so certain it reaches all the way to eternity.
John 3:16 is perhaps the most familiar sentence in all of Scripture, and familiarity can be its quiet enemy. We recite it and rush past it, not realizing we are standing at the edge of the deepest ocean in the universe. Slow down today. Read it again: *For God so loved the world.* Not the righteous. Not the ready. The world — tangled, wandering, broken — and you and me inside it.
Notice the architecture of this love. It is not passive or sentimental. It *gave*. God's love expresses itself in action, in sacrifice, in the costly gift of His only Son. The word 'gave' carries the weight of the cross. This was not a loan, not a demonstration — it was a permanent, irreversible act of grace poured out for people who had done nothing to earn it.
And then the breathtaking promise: *whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.* The race we run does not end in defeat. Because of what God gave, it ends in life — full, unending, resurrection life. Every step of endurance you take today is rooted in this: you are loved, you are given for, and you are heading somewhere glorious.

Take It With You
Today, let this verse move from your memory to your heart — pause for sixty seconds, read it slowly, and let it be fresh news: God loves *you*, specifically and extravagantly, and that changes everything about how you run.
|
Prayer: Father, forgive me for rushing past the greatest love ever shown; slow my heart today and let Your gift fill me with fresh gratitude and renewed courage to keep running. Amen.
