There is a promise in today's verse that I return to again and again, especially in seasons when my own strength has run thin. Isaiah 40:31 is not a motivational slogan — it is a covenant word from a God who never runs out of power to give. I pray it lands in your heart today exactly where you need it most.
Waiting is not what our culture celebrates. We celebrate hustle, momentum, and results. But Isaiah draws our attention to a different kind of power — one that flows not from our own reserves, but from the One whose strength is inexhaustible. To 'wait upon the LORD' carries the idea of expectant, trusting dependence, like a servant attentive to their master, or a rope wound tightly around a source of tension. It is an active, faith-filled posture, not passive resignation.
When we position ourselves in that kind of waiting — through prayer, through stillness, through choosing to trust when circumstances feel impossible — something supernatural happens. God exchanges our exhaustion for His energy. The image of eagles is vivid: these birds don't flap frantically to gain altitude; they spread their wings and ride the thermals. That is exactly what God offers us. His Spirit becomes the upward current beneath our tired wings.
Notice the progression: mounting, running, walking. We might expect it the other way around, but the hardest thing is often the long, ordinary plod of faithful obedience. God promises grace for that too — the quiet endurance to simply keep walking, day after day, without fainting. That is how races are finished.

Take It With You
Today, before you tackle your to-do list, spend five minutes in deliberate, quiet waiting before the Lord — no agenda, just open hands — and ask Him to renew your strength for what lies ahead.

Prayer: Father, I am weary in my own strength, but Yours never fails — lift me today on eagle's wings, and help me trust that waiting on You is never wasted. Amen.
