The History Of The Holy Spirit – Video Sermon

Tulsa Bible Church exists to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. We aim to accomplish this by making disciples who make a real difference for Christ in our lives, relationships, and community through the redeeming power of the Gospel.

Join us as we dive deep, and look at the pendulum of change that is the church’s relationship with the Holy Spirit throughout history.

Our Core Values

1. The Principal Purpose of Glorifying God

Christ founded the church and sent her into the world that she might glorify God and advance His kingdom by living in such a way that God’s wisdom and glory are displayed to the world and to the hosts of heaven. Our lives adorn the teaching of God our Savior so that he appears real to the world around us.  2 Corinthians 1:20-22

2. The Primacy of Scripture

God’s spoken Word reveals His plan to redeem His creation through His Messiah, Jesus. It also reveals humanity’s innermost desires driving us to our need for grace. We value God’s Word because it transcends cultural trends and preferences and centers us on Christ, not man. It provides real freedom, joy, stability, wisdom, and purpose through timeless, relevant, and life-giving Truth. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

3. The Precedence of the Gospel

The Gospel distinguishes real hope from the false hope of systems, ideas, and methods. It urges us to be peacemakers; It triumphs over religion and traditions; It targets lasting change in the HEART. The Gospel not only converts believers from death to life, but also continually transforms hearts from worshiping idols to the One, True God. We value the Gospel because we value grace and God’s grand story of redemption through Jesus.  Romans 1:16-17

4. The Pursuit of Excellence

We value a local church that “sets the bar” for excellence, service, and continual improvement knowing that we serve Christ. Churches are always in danger of falling into complacency, which leads to mediocrity. Faithful stewardship compels us beyond mediocrity or “playing church” to a family that holds nothing back in our surrender and pursuit of God.  Colossians 3:23-24

5. The Priority of Life Together

We choose real love and community over pretense. Every person has fallen short of God’s glory and desperately needs His grace. So we don’t try to hide personal sins. We pursue God together with vulnerability, humility, and brokenness and treasure real biblical community, in which broken people walk through life together. Psalms 51:16-17
