Finish The Race – Statement of Faith
The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Scripture is fully sufficient for faith and practice and is the final authority in all matters of doctrine, morality, and Christian living.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
— 2 Timothy 3:16
The Triune God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal in power and glory, sharing the same divine essence, yet distinct in personhood.
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.”
— Deuteronomy 6:4
God the Father
We believe God the Father is the Creator of heaven and earth, sovereign over all things, holy, righteous, loving, and just. He graciously initiates salvation and faithfully preserves those who belong to Him.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and willingly gave Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of humanity.
We believe in His bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, and His future visible return in power and glory.
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.”
— 1 Timothy 2:5
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates the believer, indwells, seals, and empowers Christians for godly living, obedience, and witness. The Spirit glorifies Christ and works in harmony with Scripture.
Humanity and Sin
We believe humanity was created in the image of God but fell into sin through disobedience. As a result, all people are born with a sinful nature and are spiritually separated from God, unable to save themselves apart from divine grace.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is not earned by works, merit, or religious effort, but is the gift of God, resulting in a transformed life marked by repentance, obedience, and good works.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… not by works.”
— Ephesians 2:8–9
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all true believers. Christ alone is the Head of the Church. The Church exists to glorify God through worship, teaching, fellowship, evangelism, and discipleship.
Christian Living
We believe Christians are called to live holy lives, separated from sin and devoted to God. The Christian life requires spiritual discipline, obedience to Scripture, love for others, and perseverance in faith, even in suffering and persecution.
“Be holy, because I am holy.”
— 1 Peter 1:16
Marriage, Family, and Human Identity
We believe God created humanity as male and female, equal in value and dignity, yet distinct by divine design. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, established by God as the foundation of family and society.
Human life is sacred from conception to natural death.
The Last Things
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people: the saved to eternal life with God, and the lost to eternal separation from Him. Jesus Christ will return to judge the living and the dead, and God will establish His eternal kingdom.
“He will come again to judge the living and the dead.”
— Acts 1:11
