Chris Pratt announced the birth of his newly born daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt, on Monday.
Lyla is Chris and his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger’s first child together.
The Parks and Recreation star paired his announcement with two Bible verses often used by the pro-life community to affirm the value of life at all stages.
From his Instagram account, Pratt posted:
“We are beyond thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt. We couldn’t be happier. Both mom and baby are doing great. We are extremely blessed. Love Katherine and Chris

Pratt has not shied away from his faith over the years.
In 2012, Pratt and his then-wife Anna Faris birthed their son Jack. Jack was nine weeks premature which, according to Pratt, was frightening for both him and Faris.
But for a dinosaur trainer, nothing can be too scary, right? Pratt expressed how the experience “redefined” his walk with God.
“It restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it…The baby was so beautiful to us, and I look back at the photos of him and it must have been jarring for other people to come in and see him, but to us he was so beautiful and perfect.”
