In what has become a regular occurrence, the radical hosts of a popular roundtable discussion on daytime television spouted off again, making statements only deranged individuals could appreciate.
“The View” hosts, especially Whoopi Goldberg on Wednesday’s broadcast on ABC, freaked out when the group discussed how some in the GOP said they had responded to the tragic news of a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
Salvador Ramos, 18, shot and killed 19 children and two adults, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Ramos was shot and killed by police. It is the third-deadliest school shooting in U.S. history, behind the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting and 2012 Sandy Hook shooting.
Whoppi blasted Republicans by saying they should have “done something by now.”
She later chimed in again saying that she was tired of hearing politicians offer their “thoughts and prayers” in the aftermath of such tragedy.
“What are we doing? Why are we always at square one with this? And I swear to God, if I see another Republican senator talk about their heart being broken, I’m going to go punch somebody.”
“I can’t take it and their thoughts and prayers. If your thoughts and prayers were really with everybody, you would have done something by now. It’s not like everybody’s not trying to make something happen. What the hell is going on?” she added
Co-host Joy Behar also jumped in, challenging some of the typical responses given by pro-second amendment defenders following the wrongful use of a firearm.
“I want them to stop gaslighting me also. Stop saying it’s not guns that kill people. It’s people that kill people. It’s guns that kill people, okay? Stop saying the opposite. Stop saying that mental illness is behind this.”
Joy continued, “There’s mental illness in every country in the world, and they don’t have this problem. So stop gaslighting me on that one. Stop saying that you can have a good guy. Stop a bad guy with a gun. We have seen in both of these shootings in the past three weeks that a good tried and could not do it.”
So Whoopi wants to put an end to Republicans offering up positive thoughts and prayers to God, and Joy wants people to stop gaslighting her by dropping their alternative reasons for why a monster might shoot innocent people.
Sorry ladies, but We The People will pass on your wishes, and hopefully, Goldberg changes her mind and doesn’t actually punch someone for still including their faith and dependence on God in their public condolences for the victims of a heinous crime.
