Thank you, all in “Blue”, for serving our country!

From helping a stranded motorist to intervening in a domestic violence situation, our local police officers are under-appreciated and lately wrongly hated. There are a lot of stories that go unreported to the media, as servants do it as a calling, not for recognition.

With the media’s attack on the character of the police forces around the USA, it is becoming more important than ever for their unseen actions to become seen.

The following story is a perfect example of what it means to have those in blue, just one 911 call away.

Two police officers in Pensacola, Florida are being celebrated as heroes for saving a little girl’s life.

“On June 13, 2020, officers got a call that a three-year-old girl had been found floating in a swimming pool at a residence of the north side of town,” the police stated in a press release on Monday.

When Officer Kyle Skipper arrived on the scene, he saw the child’s grandmother trying to give her CPR. Nonetheless, the child was unresponsive and not breathing.

I don’t know about you, but as a father, watching that video brought out every emotion I think I understand.  For those insane leftists who want to defund the police, show them this video to let them know that no social worker or community organizer would have saved this little girl’s life the way these two police officers did.

From the release:

Officer Skipper picked up the child and held her up off the ground and face down with one hand while using his other hand to firmly strike her back in an attempt to clear any obstructions. Officer Robert Lindblom arrived to assist, and as they were preparing to use the AED, she took a small breath. Officer Lindblom located a pulse after giving chest compressions.

The officers laid the child on her side in an attempt to keep her airway clear. The officers used their fingers to clear vomit from the child’s mouth, and the child began breathing better and began to move.

“To be honest, my first thought was, ‘There’s no way we’re going to bring her back because as purple and as blue she was, I thought for sure she was gone,” Officer Robert Lindblom recollected.

“When I saw her take that breath, I really just thought it was a miracle. when we arrived on the scene I didn’t expect her to recover,” he added.

The little girl was rushed to the hospital and doctors said if the police had not been there to assist, she wouldn’t have survived much longer without oxygen.

After the incident, the police announced that the little girl made a full recovery and they shared a photo of her on its Twitter page:

The officers admitted that they’re also parents of young kids and that they couldn’t help but imagine if this little girl had been one of their children.  That’s something that goes through every parent’s mind when confronted with a child in trouble.

“I’ve got a 3-year-old girl, the same age, and a 4-year-old son. Yeah, it hits home,” Officer Skipper commented.

So the next time you hear about the “need” to defund police departments, see a story glorifying violence against these public servants, or hear those crying because they were on their own and needed the help, remember this little girl’s smile and thank God He brought Officers Skipper and Lindborm to her pool, on one hot summer day in 2020.
