The Donald is back but not on Twitter or Facebook.
Instead, former President Donald J. Trump posted on his company’s recently released social media App.
The Trump Media & Technology Group social media platform, TRUTH Social, formally launched last month and has been up and running under its brand-new cloud services for four days, after having beta-tested since February. Former Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., is the company’s CEO.

In a much-anticipated post by the 2 plus million users already using the app, Trump referenced one of his most popular Tweets hashtags, #COVFEFE.
“I’M BACK! #COVFEFE,” Trump wrote Thursday, just days after billionaire Elon Musk bought rival site, Twitter.
The post accompanied a photo of the 45th president holding his phone standing outside his Mar-a-Lago mansion.
“COVEFE” refers to one of his tweets from 2017 criticizing the media coverage of his administration – in which his typo sparked an internet frenzy and spawned hundreds of memes.
“Despite the constant negative press covfefe,” Trump wrote at the time.
Trump’s message on TRUTH Social is the first time he has posted since his social media platform fully launched on February 21.
The ex-POTUS previously posted on a Beta version of the site, teasing his return to the world of social media.
“Get ready! Your favorite president will see you soon,” Trump wrote in a message that was then shared by his son Donald Trump Jr. on Twitter.
Both posts now appear on his TRUTH Social profile page.
The official debut comes only days after Musk struck a $44 billion deal to buy Twitter – which permanently banned the former president from the platform in the aftermath of the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

On April 25th, Trump said he would not return to Twitter if his account is reinstated.
“I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on Truth,” Trump told Fox News. “I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on Truth. The bottom line is, no, I am not going back to Twitter.”
Twitter permanently banned Trump in January 2021 citing concerns over the “risk of further incitement of violence” following the January 6 attack on the capitol. While Trump had previously broken the platform’s rules, the company had maintained his account under its special guidance for world leaders and information in the public interest.
