President Biden has been pushing the anti-second amendment mob’s agenda items, even during his 2020 presidential campaign.
After the mass shooting at the elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, the RINOs in the GOP signed on to the most significant gun control bill in three decades, the Safer Communities Act.
The problem is, statistically, tougher gun laws would not have prevented the TX shooting, nor the mass shooting in Buffalo, NY.
Yet, anti-gun activists are still insisting that tougher laws are part of the solution to end gun violence.
Well, it’s not working in cities like New York, and especially not in the windy city, Chicago, IL.
As a prime example, Illinois has the eighth strictest gun laws in the nation, according to the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
The problem in Chicago, it’s illegally obtained handguns are those being used during their street violence, which you can’t create a law to prevent.
The Tribune’s Annie Sweeney reported on 2021 crime statistics, analyzing Chicago Police Department data, information from other law enforcement and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Sweeney found that Chicago endured one of its deadliest years in at least the last quarter-century in 2021. More than 1,000 homicides here were gun-related, the medical examiner’s office said. The overwhelming majority of slayings in the city — more than 90% — were a result of gun violence, statistics show.
All told, there were at least 4,300 gunshot victims, including those who suffered both fatal and nonfatal injuries, according to CPD data. The number is a significant increase from 2018, when 2,800 people were shot.
In 2022, there have been 899 shooting incidents year to date compared with 1,061 in the 2021 year to date, according to Chicago Police Department data.
During the July 4th weekend, at least Seventy-one people were shot, eight of them fatally, in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.
When the July 4th holiday weekend was complete ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times reported the total number of shooting victims had risen to 71, with one additional fatal shooting, bringing the total number of shooting fatalities to eight.
The Chicago gun crime was slightly lower than what was witnessed over July 4th during 2021, when over 100 people were shot, 19 of them fatally.
Data from the Sun-Times shows 321 people were killed in Chicago from January 1, 2022, through July 4, 2022.
So when you take into consideration all the facts; Tough gun laws don’t prevent the mentally ill from shooting people.
In addition, gang members and other violent criminals, some also mentally ill, don’t shoot other criminals in Chicago and other urban areas with weapons purchased legally.
The Gateway Pundit is reporting that Police arrested Robert ‘Bobby’ Crimo III’, age 22, yesterday as the shooter who killed six and injured many more at the 4th of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois.
They uncovered information indicating Crimo is a radical progressive with ties to Antifa, progressive groups, and the occult.
Highland Park where this maniac took innocent lives, is a gun-free zone with Red Flags laws in place, but the shooting still took place anyway.
Guns are inanimate objects and thus are not the problem. It is the person pointing and pulling the trigger who is 100 percent responsible.
So I say, leave the second amendment alone.
