Border Czar Tom Homan Signals Imminent Arrests for Sanctuary State Officials

In a decisive move to enforce federal immigration laws, Tom Homan, President Trump’s appointed border czar, has issued stern warnings to officials in sanctuary states and cities. Homan emphasized that non-compliance with federal immigration enforcement could lead to serious legal repercussions, including charges of obstruction and harboring illegal aliens.

“If you knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien, that’s a felony,” Homan stated, referencing Title 8, United States Code 1324. He further warned, “Don’t cross that line.”

The Trump administration has prioritized the removal of criminal illegal aliens, with Homan highlighting the dangers posed by sanctuary policies. He criticized local jurisdictions that release criminal aliens back into communities instead of cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“Let us in the jail—it’s safer for everybody,” Homan urged, pointing out that arresting individuals in controlled environments reduces risks to officers and the public.

In response to resistance from sanctuary jurisdictions, Homan announced plans to double ICE manpower in those areas. “If we can’t arrest the bad guy in the jail with one agent, it means I’ve got to send a whole team out into the field,” he explained.

The administration’s firm stance has already led to significant enforcement actions. In Boston, a coordinated operation resulted in the arrest of 370 illegal aliens, many with serious criminal backgrounds. Homan criticized local leaders for their sanctuary policies, stating, “Governor Healy and Mayor Wu should be ashamed of supporting sanctuary policies.”
