Recession Redefined? ‘Soviet-Style Propaganda’, Republicans Rip Biden White House
Republicans ripped into the Biden administration after it attempted to redefine what constitutes a recession while concerns mount about a significant decline in economic activity this year, aka, disinformation.
This methodology of deceiving the masses has been utilized increasingly by the USSR/Russia since their dictator Joseph Stalin.
On Thursday, ahead of a potentially negative GDP report expected later this week — the annualized economic growth rate shrank by 1.6% in the first quarter of this year and appears to have contracted even more in the second — a White House blog post attempted to redefine the term “recession.”
“While some maintain that two consecutive quarters of falling real GDP constitute a recession, that is neither the official definition nor the way economists evaluate the state of the business cycle,” it reads, concluding that it is “unlikely that the decline in GDP in the first quarter of this year — even if followed by another GDP decline in the second quarter — indicates a recession.”
In addition, White House National Economic Council director Brian Deese claimed that a second consecutive quarter of negative GDP growth was technically “not a recession.”
In response, Republicans took to Twitter to rip the Biden team for seeking to redefine what a recession is.
“Soviet-style propaganda from the Biden White House,” Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) wrote. “Redefining recession is not a solution to get our country out of one.”

According to the History of Information Russia perfected and weaponized disinformation.
Joseph Stalin Coined the Term Desinformatsiya (Disinformation)
“In 1923 Russian revolutionary and politician Joseph Stalin, who had previously served as the first editor of Pravda
when it was the official newspaper of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, coined the term desinformatsiya
as the name of a KGB black propaganda
department.”
“Stalin gave the department what he thought was a French-sounding name in order to claim the name had a Western origin. “Russian use began with a “special disinformation office” in 1923. Disinformation was defined in Great Soviet Encyclopedia (1952) as “false information with the intention to deceive public opinion”.Operation INFEKTION was a Soviet disinformation campaign to influence opinion.”
“You can’t message your way out of a recession!” Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) exclaimed.

On Monday, Deese continued the disinformation, arguing that the “technical definition” of recession “considers a much broader spectrum of data points.”
On Sunday, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen also fell in line with the spin. Though she has previously agreed that 2 consecutive quarters with negative GDP indicates a recession, she said the U.S. economy was not in recession.
While admitting the economy is “slowing down,” Yellen stressed that the labor market is currently “extremely strong.”
The administration’s unified efforts to tell Americans that what has always been accepted, is no longer a reality, reminds me of a scene from 1984.
Well, America, will we continue to demand the reality of what is, and can be seen and known, educating our children accordingly? Or will we stand by and allow the growing numbers of Kool-Aid-drinking leftists who follow the powerful blindly, to outnumber us via education and the media, completing the American transformation into a tyrannical Communist state?
I believe the 2022, and 2024 elections will answer these questions for all of us.
