Showtime – House Judiciary Republicans Sends Notice To DHS Sec. Mayorkas Over Invasion
Our nation’s bloated and massive federal government employs more than 4 million Americans—including more than 2.1 million Federal civilian employees—to work for our Federal Government, both at home and overseas.
Out of this massive employee pool, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has singlehandedly done more damage to our nation’s sovereignty and public safety than any other public official.
As a result of the invasion on the US Southern border, caused by Mayorkas and President Joe Biden’s policies, Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee have announced their investigation plans which include questioning nearly a dozen individuals within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Mayorkas is one of the Republicans’ top targets amid illegal migration at the southern border surging to record-breaking numbers under his watch.
They previously wrote to Mayorkas in October demanding documentation related to his border management, citing federal data showing 5.5 million illegal migrant encounters had occurred since President Joe Biden had taken office.
Mayorkas, they wrote at the time, had demonstrated a “callous disregard for the safety and security of our southern border” and a “willful failure to enforce U.S. immigration law.”
The Republicans, led by ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), sent a notice Friday to Mayorkas requesting “prompt testimony” from Mayorkas and ten others with key roles in immigration and cybersecurity.
The Republicans stated in the notice, that they “anticipate requiring testimony” early next year from the individuals, who work in U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA):
- Alejandro Mayorkas
- Ur Jaddou, USCIS
- Tae Johnson, ICE
- Kerry E. Doyle, ICE
- Blas Nunez-Neto, CBP
- Chief Raul L. Ortiz, CBP
- Jennifer Daskal, Office of the General Counsel
- Adam Hunter, Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plan
- Jen Easterly, CISA
- Geoff Hale, CISA
- Julia Treanor, CISA
The testimonies will occur in committee hearings or in transcribed interviews, which Republicans will have the authority to arrange once they take control of the committee in January.
Jordan is expected to serve as committee chairman.

In an attempt to prevent further stonewalling by Mayorkas, they warned that they “may be forced to resort to compulsory process to obtain” the requested documentation if not provided by DHS before the end of 2022.
