America LAST – On President’s Day Joe Biden Speaks In Ukraine Capital Kyiv To Show “U.S. Support”

Actions are louder than words, especially when you are the President Of The United States.

President Biden has not visited East Palestine, Ohio, the scene of the fiery rail disaster that has devastated the small local community but just flew across the Pacific Ocean to take part in photo ops in Ukraine and promised more US money to the historically corrupt nation.

Biden used a secret train trip Monday to journey from Poland into war-torn Ukraine to show Kyiv it has full and open-ended U.S. support.

The Ukraine visit comes as Biden decides he wants to be seen as well as heard on his first journey to the country since Russian troops invaded on February 24, 2022.

AP reports Biden stood with his Ukraine counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky at Mariinsky Palace and recalled the fears expressed nearly a year ago that Russia might quickly march in and take the Ukrainian capital.

“One year later, Kyiv stands,” Biden said from behind his podium decorated with the U.S. and Ukrainian flags. “And Ukraine stands. Democracy stands. The Americans stand with you, and the world stands with you.”

The visit comes at a crucial moment: Biden is trying to keep allies unified in their support for Ukraine as the war is expected to intensify with spring offensives. Zelenskyy is pressing allies to speed up the delivery of promised weapon systems and calling on the West to provide fighter jets — something that Biden has declined to do.

He also wants to build global support for Ukraine as the war between the Eastern European neighbors is expected to intensify with both sides preparing for spring offensives.

In Kyiv, Biden announced an additional half-billion dollars in U.S. assistance, including shells for howitzers, anti-tank missiles, air surveillance radars, and other aid but no new advanced weaponry, the AP report sets out.

Ukraine is estimated to be burning through thousands more shells each month than the E.U. defense industry is currently able to produce.

Zelensky said he and Biden spoke about “long-range weapons and the weapons that may still be supplied to Ukraine even though it wasn’t supplied before.”

Biden did not detail any further new military material commitments but he did pledge long-term support for Ukraine, saying “freedom is priceless. It’s worth fighting for as long as it takes.”

“And that’s how long we’re going to be with you, Mr. President, for as long as it takes,” Biden promised. Zelensky, speaking in English, responded: “We’ll do it.”

A new poll shows that Americans’ support for sending weapons and economic assistance to Ukraine has dropped since the onset of Russia’s invasion of the country last year.

According to the poll conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, 48 percent of Americans support sending weapons to Ukraine, a significant drop from May 2022, when about 60 percent supported sending Ukraine weapons. Twenty-nine percent in the new poll said they were opposed to sending weapons, while 22 percent said they did not support or oppose it.

In a Twitter poll posted by national talk show host Clay Travis, over 90% of respondents would have preferred the $100 million to protect the US border, instead of defending the Ukrainian border.
