First Lady Jill Biden’s staff had to issue an apology on behalf of the First Lady after she compared Latinos to breakfast tacos.
“The First Lady apologizes that her words conveyed anything but pure admiration and love for the Latino community,” wrote Press Secretary to the First Lady Michael LaRosa.
Jill butchered the pronunciation of “bodega” while saying that the Hispanic community is “as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio”.
Biden was speaking at the Latinx IncluXion Luncheon in San Antonio, Texas. Her prepared remarks at the luncheon were part of the three-day UnidosUS annual conference.
She said:
“Raul helped build this organization with the understanding that the diversity of this community – as distinct as the bogidas of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio – is your strength,” she said, referring to Raul Yzaguirre, who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom Thursday.
One would think that “Dr.” Jill Biden, who works as a professor in a college English department, would have verified how to pronounce and what the meaning of the word “bodega,” was before taking the podium.
To many, this further demonstrates her ignorance of Latino culture.
The First Lady’s comments quickly made the rounds on social media.
“Once again, Dr. Jill Biden butchers the Spanish language in furtherance of pandering to a client constituency (the org FKA National Council of La Raza),” tweeted Jorge Bonilla, director of the Media Resource Center. “I hereby bless your timelines with Dr. Jill’s rendering of ‘bodega’”

The first lady’s remarks shocked many in the Latino community, who viewed her remarks as out-of-touch and even racist.
A clip of the First Lady botching the pronunciation of the slogan “Si se puede!” during a speech in 2021, has resurfaced.
It’s “Si se puede” (Yes you/we can) not “Si se pwadueh” 🤦🏻♀️
I can’t even imagine what word she was trying to say. Seriously why even try pandering if you’re going to butcher it and not practice before?! https://t.co/yKluZVSP6w

At this point, I am not sure who is the worst public speaker. Is it Joe Biden, Jill Biden, or Kamala Harris?
Even though the Bidens are both terrible, I think Kamala takes the prize.

What is a breakfast taco? I live in southern New Mexico and you can’t buy them at any local restaurant and none of my Hispanic friends know what they are either. I suspect a Biden breakfast Taco would be a corn tortilla filled with beans to give them some gas to keep moving and some crickets because under their green new deal they want us to eat bugs instead of beef.
Hunter might come out and being a hero exposing Joe and his brothers for money laundering and corruption for not disclosing business dealings in foreign countries.
Any Hispanic who is NOT O.K. with being compared to a TACO ,,,, should be voting Republican , PERIOD !!!
