The Biden administration has apparently decided to sacrifice the 2022 mid-terms.
They are advancing the green new deal and other far-left agenda items causing massive financial and cultural hardship nationwide, reflected in their plummeting poll numbers.
Even CNN isn’t even trying to cover up how the bad situation is for the Democrats.
During a segment discussing the upcoming midterm elections CNN’s Senior Data reporter Harry Enten said that Republicans are in the best position “at this point in any midterm cycle in over 80 years.”
“I would say they’re looking very good from a historical context,” Enten said. “So, basically, I took the best Republican positions on the generic congressional ballot at this point in midterm cycles since 1938. That generic ballot, basically, as would you vote for the generic Republican or generic Democrat in your district. And guess what? Since 1938, the Republican two-point lead on the generic congressional ballot is the best position for Republicans at this point in any midterm cycle in over 80 years.”
A poll from Rasmussen found the GOP leading by 8 in the generic congressional ballot.
The 2022 midterm elections are now 158 days away, and Republicans have an eight-point lead in their bid to recapture control of Congress.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that, if the elections for Congress were held today, 48% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Republican candidate, while 40% would vote for the Democrat. Just four percent (4%) would vote for some other candidate, but another eight percent (8%) are not sure.
Democrats’ control of the 50-50 Senate could well be washed away by a red wave in this fall’s midterm elections.
Republicans appear favored to win back the Senate for two simple reasons. First, the national environment has moved in their favor. Biden’s approval rating is low. The GOP has improved in generic ballot polls and won the governor’s seat in Virginia last November.
Second, the Senate is already split 50-50, so a net gain of even just one seat for Republicans would flip the chamber into their hands.
With gasoline prices continuing to climb, and with expected energy blackouts coming this summer, plus other issues Biden’s team is not addressing, the GOP should pick up both chambers of Congress in November.
Then the real question will be, what will they actually accomplish with the power given to them by a very angry electorate?
