DeSantis Starts Pride Month Targeting Trans Treatments

As with any successful business, organizational or political leader; setting an agenda, laying out the plan of action, and executing it regardless of known and unknown obstacles, allows them to measure how things are going and to make changes on the fly.

Regardless of the radical left’s self-proclamation of June being their “pride” month, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ administration moved forward taking aim at transition-related services for children and adolescents in the state.

In the latest development, a wave of bills and other actions targeting premature and typically irreversible treatments for transgender youth across the country have taken place.

In a letter sent to the Florida Board of Medicine, which was obtained by NBC News, state Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo wrote that he has recommended against “certain pharmaceutical, non-pharmaceutical, and surgical treatments for gender dysphoria,” citing guidance released by the Florida Department of Health in April. He wrote that Florida “must do more to protect children from politics-based medicine.”

“Otherwise, children and adolescents in our state will continue to face a substantial risk of long-term harm,” Ladapo added.

The state Health Department made the request hours after another state agency issued a 46-page report to justify banning Medicaid coverage for transgender people of any age who want puberty blockers, hormone therapies, or gender-reassignment surgery.

The two-pronged effort, which ensures DeSantis can act quickly and without the need for legislative approval, drew instant opposition from activists and medical professionals.

They have increasingly clashed with DeSantis, a Republican, as he seeks re-election and builds a national brand as a culture warrior and potential 2024 White House contender.

The request, which was dated June 2, came days after the start of Pride Month, an annual celebration of the LGBTQ+ community that coincides with the anniversary of the June 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City.

The administration’s targeting of transition treatment may heighten the backlash from LGBTQ+ advocates against the DeSantis administration, which has taken heat in recent months over legislation commonly, but wrongly, referred to as the “Don’t Say Gay” law.

In reality, the bill does not include the word “gay” in it, and the correct title is the Parental Rights in Education Act. It prohibits discussion on certain topics related to sexual identity and orientation in some school grade levels.

DeSantis’ administration notes that Sweden and Finland, which were among the first countries to engage in prescribing a broad range of transition-related care for transgender children, following some of their findings, have severely cut back on their uses now.

Further frustrating the aggressive hyper-transition crowd, the administration has gone one step further by also seeking to ban what’s called “social gender transition therapy”. This would prohibit therapists from encouraging children to change their pronouns and hair, and dress in accordance with their gender identities.

I for one wholeheartedly support anyone who fights to protect children from radicals, especially those struggling with gender dysphoria and/or pedophilia.

We must prevent grooming, stop children from being pressured to conform to the desires of an adult authority figure, and prevent any chemical/surgical procedure that will damage their God-assigned bodies., which were assigned at conception.

If not, can you imagine the number of mental health issues our medical system will try to deal with over the next 10-15 years?

We are talking about potentially millions of “altered people”,  whose ages put them in Gen Z, without an identifiable identity nor hope for the future.

I say we go with the DeSantis plan just like America has always done.

Let people seek help but not until AFTER they have become adults, and hopefully their brains and rational thinking have matured and their surroundings are more stable.
