Coughing Joe Biden Struggles In Jerusalem, Appears Lost Afterwards
It’s been two days since President Joe Biden arrived in Israel, and as usual, he just can’t get his act together, not even in the Holy Land.
From needing help on where to stand after deplaning, misspeaking about the Holocaust, and trying to shake hands with no one, on day one.

On day two Joe insulted Israel’s handling of the Palestinians and had a temporary coughing fit during a press conference.
“My background and the background of my family is Irish American and we have a long history not fundamentally unlike the Palestinian people, with Great Britain and their attitude toward Irish Catholics over the years for 400 years,” said Biden while he was in East Jerusalem.
The president grew emotional as he began recounting his time in hospitals, recalling when his first wife was killed in a car crash, when he underwent two surgeries for brain aneurysms, and also suffered an embolism.
During his remakrs, the president grew hoarse began coughing, and reached for his water.
“Sorry. I swallowed wrong,” he said, pausing to take a drink.

Biden then recalled that during his brain surgeries when he was lying in the intensive care unit staring at the monitors.
“You just get tired, even when you’re not in pain, you just want to quit,” he said.
He praised the nurses in the hospital for making him want to live.
“The nurses at Walter Reed hospital would come up, they’d rub my face, they’d whisper in my ear, they get close and tell me it’s going to be ok,” he said. “They made a difference in my life.”
Biden shifted to speaking about his deceased son Beau Biden.
He began meandering about how his son slept about 150 yards from a burn pit when he was stationed in Iraq and came home with stage four glioblastoma.
“He should be the man standing here talking to you as president, not me,” he said.
Biden struggled to find the right words to describe his efforts in trying to find a way to cure cancer.
“Within our National Institute of Health, I set up a provision where like within the Defense Department, there’s a special office, the Defense Department, they’ve been looking at breaking technologies, whether it’s just across the board, that’s where the internet came from.”
Biden then went back to the approved script but not before making one of his peculiar statements concerning what his deceased mother would say to him about carrying on.
“I could say much more, but if my mother were here she’d look at me and say ‘Hush up, you’ve spoken too long,’” the 79-year-old said.
The president after ending his remarks; “Thank you. Thank you, folks. Appreciate it very very much. Thank you.” looked unsure what to do, again.
After leaving the podium, Biden paused and motioned to his security team, apparently uncertain of which way he was expected to leave the room.
