Backlash Builds Against TX Senator Cornyn – Gets “Viciously Booed”
When you think of Texas, you think of tough people who love their God and guns.
So when one of their U.S. Senators, John Cornyn, decides to play turncoat and join up with the Democrats in the Senate to advance controversial gun legislation, he quickly becomes a target for the millions in the Lone Star state who love their 2A.
In the legislation, the democrats slipped in an unconstitutional law called, Red Flag or Extreme Risk Protection Order.
A red flag law is a gun control law that empowers various police, family members, coworkers, and others to petition a state court to order the temporary removal of firearms from a person who they believe may present a danger to others or themselves.
A judge then makes the determination to issue the order based on statements and actions made by the gun owner in question. Refusal to comply with the order is punishable as a criminal offense.
After a set time, the guns are returned to the person from whom they were seized unless another court hearing extends the period of confiscation
As a result, Senator Cornyn was “viciously booed” when he spoke at the Republican Party of Texas Convention, the crowd of conservatives was obviously not on board with his idea of surrendering their constitutional right.
A video of the crowd reaction was included in a tweet by Jeramy Wallace:
“US Sen John Cornyn gets viciously booed during much of his speech here at the Republican Party of Texas Convention.
Here are his closing remarks and the cascade of boos.

In the video, Cornyn tries to motivate the crowd, which would normally be 100 percent behind him, but this time, too much was at stake.
“So let’s take out country back, starting with Congress in November. Thank you, God bless you, and may God continue to bless our great state of Texas.”
Instead of responding with cheers or enthusiasm for the RINO, the crowd let Johh know, that they were not happy with him.
According to Axios’ Jonathan Swan, the booing was even worse than the video makes it appear.
From a source in the room: “The video doesn’t do it justice. It was really bad.” As we reported last night, there’s a growing conservative backlash against Cornyn. https://t.co/ad0OjsYaEH

Axios also reported that while another RINO, Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has expressed his support for the legislation, a majority of the Republican Senators are “uneasy about the negotiations”.
Senator Hawley (R-MO), told Axios that he is “not a big fan of the framework as it’s been announced … I’m tracking what’s been reported in the press. I understand the framework is shifting. But you know, I’m not a huge fan of it.”
Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) “very vocally” requested more information from Cornyn on the substance of the framework. Those requests were rebuffed, three sources familiar with the lunch told Axios.
I am hoping this legislation is never voted on, and after the Red Wave in November, it is shredded never to be considered again.
