Most Christians Say They Would Never Vote Democrat, Poll Finds

A new national survey has confirmed what many conservatives have long suspected: a growing majority of Christian voters now say they would never consider voting for a Democrat, citing fundamental conflicts with the party’s stance on life, morality, and religious liberty.

According to polling data published this week by the Faith and Freedom Coalition and highlighted by LifeNews, 75% of Christian voters—both Protestant and Catholic—say the Democratic Party has become too radical on moral and cultural issues. The same report reveals that nearly two-thirds of self-identified Christians view Republican candidates as more aligned with biblical values, especially on hot-button topics such as abortion, gender ideology, and religious freedom.

“This data reinforces a long-term trend of disillusionment with the Democratic Party’s platform,” said Faith and Freedom Coalition founder Ralph Reed. “For decades, Democrats have steadily abandoned traditional moral values, and now the majority of Christians have had enough.”

The poll, conducted in June 2025, surveyed over 2,000 likely Christian voters. Notably, 68% said they believe the Democratic Party is openly hostile to their faith, while only 18% felt the GOP held similar hostility. When asked about policy issues that matter most, the sanctity of life was the leading concern, followed by protecting religious liberty, supporting Israel, and resisting government overreach in parenting and education.

Pro-life advocacy continues to be a cornerstone of Christian political engagement. With Democrats doubling down on unrestricted abortion through all nine months and taxpayer-funded procedures, many Christian voters see no room for compromise. “There is nothing compassionate or moral about defending late-term abortion,” said Jillian Myers, a Christian mother of three from Ohio. “No matter what else a candidate promises, if they don’t respect life, they’ve lost my vote.”

Christian voters also expressed deep concern over what they view as growing totalitarianism on the Left. “They want to dictate how we raise our children, force radical gender ideology into our schools, and punish us for simply living out our faith,” said Pastor David Harmon of Texas. “It’s no longer just disagreement—it’s persecution.”

Recent legal developments have only heightened these anxieties. As reported by The Daily Wire, a Supreme Court decision this month is expected to streamline deportations of illegal immigrants—an outcome strongly supported by conservative Christian voters who favor the rule of law and national sovereignty. The ruling is being celebrated as a victory for common sense, especially in contrast to the open-border stance often championed by Democrat lawmakers.

“Securing our borders is a biblical concept,” said constitutional attorney Jenna Ellis. “The Bible affirms the idea of nations, laws, and accountability. What we’re seeing from Democrats is not compassion—it’s chaos.”

That chaos, many Christian voters believe, has extended to every major institution Democrats now control—from public education to corporate boardrooms and even to the Department of Justice. The Biden administration’s repeated targeting of pro-life activists, such as Mark Houck and others, has been perceived as clear-cut political intimidation by a weaponized federal government.

“This isn’t just about politics—it’s about survival,” said retired Army chaplain and Christian author Michael Perry. “When a party treats believers as threats for holding biblical convictions, Christians have no obligation to support them. In fact, they have a moral duty not to.”

The poll also revealed that many Christians believe the Democratic Party is increasingly aligning itself with spiritual darkness. Sixty percent of respondents said they feel the Democrats support policies that directly oppose Scripture. For example, the normalization of transgender surgeries for minors and the suppression of parental rights were listed as key red lines.

“Democrats are legislating against God’s design,” said Annabelle Cross, a homeschooling mom and volunteer prayer leader. “I don’t hate them—but I can’t vote for people who promote sin and call it love.”

On the other side of the aisle, Republicans continue to gain support among evangelicals and conservative Catholics. While not without flaws, GOP candidates are seen as far more willing to protect freedom of conscience and defend traditional values under increasing cultural pressure. Over 70% of Christian respondents said they would back a Republican candidate who supports a pro-life agenda and religious liberty protections, even if they disagreed with them on secondary issues.

The survey also highlighted the rising influence of Christian media and grassroots organizations in shaping political engagement. With trust in mainstream outlets at historic lows, many Christians are turning to alternative news sources, podcasts, and ministries that align with a biblical worldview.

“Christians are awake now,” said Josh Manning, a youth pastor and online commentator. “We’ve seen what happens when we stay silent. We will not be guilted into voting for leaders who trample the truth.”

As the 2026 midterms approach, Democrats may struggle to regain the confidence of faith-driven voters, especially as their platform continues to drift further left. The era of so-called “moderate Democrats” appears to be over—and for many Christians, so is the idea of ever casting a vote for them again.
