China Attempting To Scare Speaker Pelosi Away From Taiwan

The United States has been the world leader since World War 2, but things are changing.

The only nuclear Super Power, the nation founded by those fleeing tyranny allowed itself to get drawn into multiple conflicts as the self-funded global peacemaker.

Unlike other nations, the U.S. has never required other countries that we protected in war, like Korea and Vietnam, to reimburse us financially and we actually rebuilt Japan on our dime. In addition, we did not expand our “empire” to keep conquered lands nor take over nations’ oil and/or mineral supplies to increase the wealth of our nation.

The harsh and undeniable reality is China and the former USSR, Russia, have been stealing our intellectual property for decades.

China has grown its military using our stolen technology and appears to believe they are at least on par with the USA.  With a weak president in the White House, the CPP doesn’t fear our nation as it did under former President Trump and has just threatened to shoot House Speaker Nancy Pelosi out of the sky if she visits Taiwan.

In a sign of force, The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) staged military exercises and published propaganda videos of various weapons, including an alleged “aircraft carrier killer,” on Sunday and Monday in anticipation of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) arriving in Asia and potentially visiting Taiwan.

Pelosi landed in Singapore on Monday and has since met with its president and prime minister, bringing along a congressional delegation. The Speaker’s office confirmed the delegation would also visit Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan.

Rumors for weeks have indicated that Pelosi had long been considering a surprise stop in the sovereign, democratic nation of Taiwan – defying the Chinese Communist Party, which vehemently claims that Taiwan is a rogue “province” and dismisses its government as an illegitimate separatist entity.

Various Communist Party spokesmen and propagandists have spent much of the past month threatening Pelosi in an attempt to prevent the visit, warning that Beijing would consider such a high-profile visit a violation of its “One China” policy – which insists that Taiwan (the Republic of China) is a province of the People’s Republic of China.

Top Global Times commentator Hu Xijin implied last week that Chinese forces should shoot Pelosi’s plane down if it appears to be traveling to Taiwan. He described a visit to Taiwan by Pelosi and the delegation, even if welcomed by the Taiwanese government, as an “invasion” of China.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian addressed the situation with threats once again on Monday, though he did not warn of any particular measure against the United States.

“If she dares to go, wait and see!” Zhao told a reporter ominously.

“The Chinese People’s Liberation Army will not sit back,” Zhao told reporters, according to Chinese state media. “China will take resolute and strong countermeasures to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

“With Pelosi’s potential visit to Taiwan, this year’s Army Day is a special one,” the outlet continued, “with concrete and realistic combat preparations being made against one of the most severe provocations against China’s sovereignty since the 1996 Taiwan Straits crisis, analysts say.”

The Times highlighted PLA propaganda shared on social media, including a video titled “preparing for war!” and multiple state media broadcasts of live-fire drills and the display of alleged anti-aircraft-carrier hypersonic technology.

This is what you call a HUGE game of chicken and it’s catching the Biden administration flat-footed.

My guess is Pelosi will do an online video call with the leadership of Taiwan, instead of meeting in person to test the Red Dragon’s resolve, finding out how serious their threats were.
