BREAKING: RINO Senator Ben Sasse To Resign, Report Says
U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) is reportedly going to resign from his position to pursue a new opportunity outside of elected office.
NewsRadio 1110 KFAB’s Ian Swanson broke the news, saying that Sasse was going to pursue an opportunity in higher education, adding that the resignation was not expected to happen immediately.
“Senator Sasse will imminently announce his intent to resign from the U.S. Senate to pursue another opportunity in higher education,” Swanson wrote on Twitter. “While the process could take a bit, the announcements are expected ‘imminently.’”
“I want to be clear here: this is a process that will take time, so the resignation will not take effect today,” he added. “The process will be announced today, and I am told to expect the resignation to actually be made official in December.”
Aaron Sanderford, a reporter with the Nebraska Examiner and former Sasse staffer, reported that if Sasse does indeed resign that his seat would be filled by gubernatorial appointment.
“His replacement would serve from now until early 2025,” Sanderson said. “That would mean Nebraska could have both Senate seats up in the same presidential election year, 2024.”

Sasse a never-Trumper frequently criticized former President Donald J. Trump.
The men had a big spat after Sasse criticized Trump over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, his relations abroad, and more surfaced this week.
“The reality is that he careened from curb to curb. First, he ignored COVID. And then he went into full economic shutdown mode. He was the one who said 10 to 14 days of shutdown would fix this,” Sasse said in an event with constituents, according to audio obtained by The Washington Examiner. “And that was always wrong. I mean, and so I don’t think the way he’s lead through COVID has been reasonable or responsible or right.”
“The United States now regularly sells out our allies under his leadership, the way he treats women, spends like a drunken sailor. The ways I criticize President Obama for that kind of spending, I’ve criticized President Trump for as well,” Sasse added. “He mocks evangelicals behind closed doors. His family has treated the presidency like a business opportunity. He’s flirted with white supremacists.”
For me, this is good news.
Hopefully, Nebraska votes for a true conservative to replace Sasse in 2024.
