Rand Paul: “Republicans Are Not Perfect. But Are Not Pushing Your Child To Have Surgery To Remove Their Genitalia”

Senator Rand Paul warned on Friday that young people in America are falling victim to a swiftly worsening mental health crisis under the Democrat government.

Paul raised the issue of doctors that carried out transgender surgeries on minors at his appearance on The Ingram Angle. He also shed light on the propaganda that has led to an impressive boost in American children who feel like they were born in the wrong body.

“But who was also responsible for telling a 4-year-old that we need to talk about their gender and whether they’re in the appropriate body? Who’s talking about giving picture books to 6-year-olds with illustrations of surgery to remove their genitalia?” he asked.

“It’s Democrat politicians and left wing people”, Paul purported.

There’s not one Republican — look, Republicans are not perfect. But Republicans are not pushing your child to have surgery to remove their genitalia as early as elementary school. No Republican is pushing this,” Paul reiterated.

The Republican senator said that while “Republicans are not perfect,” they weren’t pushing the same ideologies as the “crazy, left-wing Democrats.”

“There’s no secret who was involved with the lockdowns, and they have had an impact,” Paul also noted, adding that three months into the pandemic when it became clear that children were not becoming seriously ill from COVID he endorsed reopening schools.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed earlier this year that 44% of students reported being “persistently depressed” in 2021 and that they were unable to engage in regular activities.

Living through a public health emergency especially one that combined lockdowns and comparatively low social communication and interaction, only exacerbated an existing mental health crisis among youth, according to the CDC.

Paul stated that it could have been avoided, touting Sweden’s response to the pandemic as a successful example.

“[They] kept their schools open, and not one child died that was going to school. They also didn’t wear masks in school, and still, not one child died in schools,” he said.

“The teachers didn’t get any sicker than in any other profession,” Paul added.

In the same interview, Paul commented on the alarming threats that materialized last week toward himself and school children in Kentucky noting that he has urged the FBI to “leave no stone unturned,” to prevent another potential mass shooting.
