A former NBC executive found himself in hot water on Wednesday over a post he had made on social media regarding Donald Trump’s youngest son Barron’s 18th birthday.
In a now-deleted post, Mike Sington wrote on X: “Barron Trump turns 18 today. He’s fair game now.”
It was initially unclear what Sington meant by the tweet, but his post sparked mass outrage across social media with individuals speculating that the former NBC executive either has lustful eyes for the youngest Trump, wants to see him be physically harmed, or that Barron is no longer free from public scrutiny since he’s now an adult.

After the backlash and humiliation, Sington told Newsweek: “I posted he was ‘fair game’ now, meaning, as an adult, he’s ‘fair game’ for criticism from the press.” Sington admitted to something of a blood lust for a media attack on the Trump son.
Garrett Ventry, president of GRV Strategies and former senior communications adviser to the Senate GOP Judiciary Committee, weighed in and said: “This is super creepy.”
