There's a word in this invitation that changes everything: *all*. Not the strong, not the sorted-out, not the ones who've finally gotten it together — all. Every laboring, heavy-laden, worn-thin soul is exactly who Jesus is calling to Himself.
The people who first heard these words knew labor in their bones. Religious burdens had been piled on them — rules, expectations, the constant feeling of never quite measuring up. Jesus steps into that exhaustion and does something scandalous: He doesn't hand them a better system or a shorter list. He offers Himself. *Come to Me*, He says — not to a program, not to a practice, but to a Person.
Rest, in Jesus' invitation, isn't the absence of difficulty. It's the presence of One who is strong enough to share the load. When you bring your grief, your anxiety, your failing health, your strained relationships, or your spiritual dryness to Him, you are not burdening Him. You are doing exactly what He asked you to do. He is not surprised by the weight. He welcomed it.
This is the heartbeat of finishing the race — not running harder on your own, but learning to lean on the One who runs beside you and beneath you. The race doesn't end because life gets easier. It continues because He is enough for every mile.

Take It With You
Today, before you carry one more thing alone, pause and literally pray these words back to Him: 'Lord, I am coming to You.' Let that be the first step you take.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I come — tired and honest — trusting that Your rest is real and Your arms are wide enough for everything I'm bringing. Amen.
