What if the very moment you feel like giving up is the moment you are closest to the breakthrough? Scripture doesn't promise that doing good will always feel rewarding in the short term — but it does promise a harvest.
The farming imagery here is deliberate and deeply encouraging. No farmer plants seed in the morning and expects to harvest by afternoon. Between planting and harvest there is a long, often unglamorous season of waiting, watering, and trusting. God is asking us to see our acts of faithfulness the same way — as seeds sown in good soil, under His watchful care.
Weariness in well-doing is real. It creeps in when your kindness goes unnoticed, when your prayers feel unanswered, when the person you're serving seems unchanged. But the promise here does not hinge on circumstances — it hinges on God's faithfulness. The harvest belongs to Him, and He does not forget a single seed you have planted in His name.
The condition is simply this: faint not. Keep going. Not in gritted-teeth stubbornness, but in quiet, Christ-rooted trust that the God who began a good work in and through you is faithful to complete it. Every small act of love is an investment in an eternal return.
