Scripture gives clear boundaries for church eldership and authoritative teaching over men, but those boundaries do not make women insignificant. Women are essential to the life of the church. Titus 2 specifically calls older women to teach younger women. Women served Christ, supported ministry, practiced hospitality, taught in appropriate settings, prayed, evangelized, and strengthened the body. A faithful church should honor and equip women to use their gifts biblically. The issue is not whether women matter; they absolutely do. The issue is whether the church will obey God’s design.
