God is not shocked by honest prayer. Many Psalms show believers bringing distress, grief, confusion, and even anger before the Lord. But biblical prayer does not give anger the throne. It brings anger under God’s authority. When you are angry, tell the Lord the truth, ask Him to search your motives, confess sinful bitterness, and seek wisdom before speaking or acting. Prayer helps slow the soul down so you do not obey emotion instead of Scripture. Christ understands injustice and suffering, yet He entrusted Himself to the Father.
