The Way — Week 5

THE WAY — WEEK 5 OF 12

A Man Must Lead Himself First

The goal this week is to understand that leadership begins with personal discipline, spiritual responsibility, and self-control before God.

⚔️ Weekly Focus

Many men want influence before they have discipline. But biblical leadership begins with self-government under the authority of Christ.

A man who cannot lead his own habits, emotions, words, desires, and time will eventually struggle to lead others faithfully.

This week is about strengthening personal leadership before trying to correct, guide, or influence anyone else.

📖 Scripture Focus

1 Timothy 4:7–8

Train yourself for godliness. Spiritual strength is built through intentional discipline.

Proverbs 25:28

A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.

Titus 2:6–8

Men are called to be self-controlled and examples of good works, integrity, and sound speech.

🔥 Reflection Questions

• Where am I trying to lead others while neglecting myself?

• What habit is weakening my credibility as a man?

• Where do my emotions control me instead of being submitted to wisdom?

• What area of self-leadership needs immediate correction?

✅ Practical Action Step

Choose ONE area of self-leadership to strengthen this week:

  • Morning routine
  • Speech and tone
  • Time stewardship
  • Emotional reactions
  • Physical discipline
  • Spiritual consistency

Lead yourself in that area every day this week. Do not announce it loudly. Just execute faithfully.

⚡ Weekly Challenge

For 7 days, practice visible self-leadership:

  • Begin each day with Scripture and prayer
  • Complete one personal discipline before noon
  • Control your tone in difficult moments
  • Follow through on one responsibility without being reminded

Leadership is not proven by title. It is proven by faithfulness when no one is applauding.

🛡️ Midweek Reset

• Am I leading myself or drifting through the week?

• Where have I failed to control my words, habits, or emotions?

• What responsibility have I followed through on?

• What correction do I need to make before the week ends?

📘 End-of-Week Review

• Where did I lead myself well this week?

• Where did I lose self-control or consistency?

• What changed when I acted before being reminded?

• What area of self-leadership must continue next week?

Continue Forward
